Second Attempt at Night Fishing on Lake Superior at the French
There was less rain on this attempt for cantaloupe trout on lake Superior tonight. Despite night coming far earlier than it should, we were still eager to make another try. The lake was doing its thing, pushing waves easily six feet up the cobblestone beach. Headlamps made this trip much easier, as it can get quite difficult to walk on slick football sized rock.
No fish were see, or caught, but we did reach several conclusions. The first one being that it is impossible to fish without getting snagged, and the use of slinky weights (split shot in a hollow shoe lace with the ends melted closed) would be the only way to make fishing worth while.
The second conclusion was that it does little good to fish were there are no fish. Not much can be done about the second part until I learn more about what trout do in the fall.
